The dish is painted underglaze blue, iron-red and gilt, with a central flower vase below panels with pierced wave roundels and flower grounds. The base is incised with inventory mark N: 376 – of Augustus II.
Provenance: Formerly in an old Dutch private collection
The inventory mark on the underside of this dish indicates that it was in the collection of Augustus II (1670-1733), Elector of Saxony and king of Poland, and one of the most important collectors of East Asian porcelain in the eighteenth century.
